Alpine = Awesome! I had the fortune of riding with some of Oakridge’s most seasoned GOATS and my friend Erich who brought his 9mm along for the ride, sweet. You start the ride with a huffy puffy uphill, calling to question your judgement in coming along for this torturous cramp-inducing climb. Then, like all good rides, as soon as you feel outmatched, outclassed by the hard work you reach the top and zoom through a meadow with the wind in your hair and an uncontrollable smile on your face. From here its fast, smooth, relatively obstacle free riding for miles. This was the first time in my short history of mountain biking where I was so tired of going downhill that I was actually hoping for some climbing. There was one techy downhill section with deep ruts, roots and probably bear traps that I skidded to a crash before I attempted (to walk my bike down). Nothing like humbling yourself with a crash. Even with the crash, this trail was infectiously fun and I can’t wait to go again with Randy and Oregon Adventures (oregon-adventures.com).

Fantastic! Isn’t Alpine wonderful?!
